Modeling wingtips
I'm following a tutorial, but I can't quite grasp this part.
I'm having trouble modeling the wingtips, does anyone know a good way to do this? |

Re: Modeling wingtips
It's one I bought from a guy at the targetware boards.
It's a pretty good tutorial, just not grasping this part. What he does is basically polygon the top of the wing tip shape, make a copy and drag it down. Then sets up the vertices's to match the shape of the front. After that, he deletes the surfaces, and manually draws the wing tip from vertice to vertice. I don't get how he was able to do that using only front and top references. The side reference doesn't help with getting the back of the wing shape. I could extrude the rest of the wing out, to the tip, but I won't get the rounded off tip. It would just be flat edge on the side. Last edited by Wiggles; 13th August 2007 at 12:51 PM. |

Re: Modeling wingtips
It would help(at least me) to see the shape of the wing to get a grasp on what you need

Re: Modeling wingtips
This is how I would have made the tip. Possibly not the best way but its one way. Selct the vertices and extrude. Do this and shape the extruded parts to desired shape.
