Frame for Aircraft Windows
I have an aircraft with the cockpit windows cut out - all good. I'm lost for a method to add a frame to the windows - just a thin not very thick border frame around a smooth curving 180 degree window hole... Any techniques to suggest?

Re: Frame for Aircraft Windows
Perhaps duplicate the surfaces around the frame, then thicken that (Object-Thicken)
If you only have a single surface thickness to your plane skin, select the vertices around the window and Vertex->extrude edges then move the selection a bit, to create some border surfaces. You can then cut them away and thicken to make your frame. |

Re: Frame for Aircraft Windows
Thanks Andy. You gave me the idea. I drew a line with the same number of points as the window hole - I then snapped the line vertices to each of its matching window hole vertices - then I drew a disk and used it to Extrude Along Path. I them moved the new frame into the right spot....
worked a treat. Dom |
