Default Would like some help/pointers/tips on making a human head.

I want to make a 3d model of myself or someone I know. I feel I can do this, since I have made animals and so forth, but I want to make a person. I want some knowledge on making a head much like the one sampled with ac3d (in models/samples) what are the percautions I must take, and what could I do to make this easier (though I know it won't be easy, maybe to some veterans) then it could be. Thanx in advance.

I tried the tutorials and found them to be as not so easy as one might think.

Its a fine line between too few and too many polygons.
I opt for the simplest (cube) and then divide surfaces and divide and divide.

It does help to have a face front and side view as a background if you want to make them look like real people.... But then, I waas never an artist..

That's precisely the same thing I ran into when creating heads/faces. It takes a some practise using this method to achieve a balance that you end up being happy with, but after a couple of test heads, it's much easier. I've found it *very* helpful to use a photo as reference for your first test heads, too - gives you a better sense of how real faces are built.

I tried the division method, but I found the face extrusion suited my tastes a bit better. Both methods can acheive good results, of course.
