Semi-transparent windshield ?
My semi-transparent windshield works OK except for the fact that any new objects I put in the cockpit area behind that windshield vanish. When I make panel, back wall, side walls, and floor above the airplane they are visible, but when I lower them down into the cockpit area it is as if they are not there. This problem carries through from AC3D to Plane-Maker and X-Plane. ???

Re: Semi-transparent windshield ?
You have to put anything you want to see through the windshield, before the windshield object in the object list.

Re: Semi-transparent windshield ?
Thanks, I'll try that.
What I was doing do far was making the inside a separate object and putting it SECOND in the list in Plane-Maker. I tried putting the inside first in AC3D and that did not solve the problem. Someone else told me that windows must be created without using triangles, and two sided at first. Then the appropriate opacity texture is applied and then they are changed to "X-Plane -> Make one-sided" This will require quite a bit of work for me!

Re: Semi-transparent windshield ?
In AC3D, make sure you set the material to a degree of transparency, for the window object.

Quote:
- Make sure the faces are one-sided. - Make sure normals point outward. - Set X-Plane Object properties -> Blending to ON - move object to bottom position in the hierarchy or even better: - Put the transparent parts into a sep. object file and attach it in Planemaker. - There's a pop-up in Planemaker to set the lighting mode to glass. you do use a semi-transparent png texture, do you? peter |

Thanks, Peter.
