Purchasing AC3D

As I found I cannot get along without AC3D I am about to purchase it today, however I have a few questions before I do.
.
1. As this is strickly a downloard (No CD) if my harddrive were to fail totally would this mean I would have to purchase another program (Licence)? How is my purchase protected or can I do something to do this?
2. Will the registered or licenced version include both a Windows and Linux version as I use both.
3. What happens when I do register?
4. If I use PayPal how long does it take to receive the licence (Serial #?)
