TCE query
I was just curious if theres away to get the texture to do a "mirrored" tile instead of the repeated tiling.
Are there any plugins that do this? |

Not automatically but you can select the coordinates you want, flip them and move them across - this will have the same effect as a mirror.

I guess I should've been more specific. I'm working on low poly models and basically need to map a rounded texture, using alpha, to a plane.
So when I was desiging the layout of the textures, instead of taking up more texture space with a complete round object, I put a 1/4 round section in the corner of the texture map, hoping for a mirroring capability. So when you'd see a mirrored tile - you'd have circles where thhey join. Anyway - is the only way to do what I want: A: use more texture resources for a larger round object on a single plane B: Create more surfaces by subdividing the plane into 4 equal surfaces. Unless I'm missing something about the flipping of coorddinates, I dont see how that can be done with a plane. BTW - any plans to make the heiracrhy system easier to work with? Way to change names, ect..... Enjoying the product though so far. Thanks for your time. |

I think what you want to do is possible but you will have to divide up the single polygon into at least four sections (Surface->divide).
Remember that texture coordinates can overlap and be the same. For each quarter of your object, you need to select the surfaces and map those to your quarter texture. Once you've done one set, selct the next in AC3D and map those to the same position. Use the flip buttons on the TCE to reverse the direction of mapping. Andy |
