Time is difficult to say. Maybe around 5-6 hours for the ship. And about 30 min for the buildings with the greeble plugin. Just create a rectangle and divide it so you get around 10-15 by 10-15 surfaces. Then just go wild with the greeble plugin
 Experiment a bit to get a citybuilding look.
