you cant animate anything in ac3d yet, but Andy has said it is planed.

to make you model semi-transparent:
right-click on the matirial that your model has.
select 'edit matirial'
a dialog will come up with lots of diff settings including transperantcy.

OR, you could use AC3D to model(wich is much better than milkshape)
and CharactorFX to do all your animations.

check it out, although ive never rly used it, so let us know how it goes.

Default CharacterFX

I don't know if anyone has ever tried CharacterFX. You have to export your model tirangluaized in obj format. My color information got lost at all. Also, I don't like the control of the 3D viewport, nor the way you have to add the bones. I've tried it and I'll surely won't use it. That's just my experience and others might like it. Take a look at it yourself. I'd really appreciate the worst unstable crappiest animation support in AC3D. It's simply the best modeler I think.
For now I'm trying to use milkshape for animations, but that's a PITA.
