Exclamation Red Baron

Hello guys, I am a new user of AC 3D and an aspiring aerospace engineer. I thought creating the Fokker Tri-plane would be a good place to start with this awesome software. I have now been using AC 3D for about 5 days, and would appreciate some feedback on my near-finished work (I haven't used a render yet).

Sorry for the low pixel quality in some places on the pics, i pasted the images into windows paint

That's actually quite a good start I must admit! I'll bet it won't take you long to get a hang of everything in AC3D. Good luck, my fellow future aerospace engineer.

Very nice, it looks like you've already got all the basic techniques down.

Heh, I once tried to make one of those myself. I didn't have a license for AC3D at the time, so I couldn't save it and I lost it.

Hey, great start. When i was new to ac3d I wasn't new to the world of 3d modelling, so your doing pretty well. One tip i will give to save you alot of time. I notice in your earllier model that you used POLYLINES in between the wings. I would reccomend using a solid object or drawing a disk and "EXTRUDING ALONG PATH" (thats a handy tool if you would like an explination) Reason being, when you come to do your final render, Polylines will not be visible, as they do not have normals and reflect no light! I found this out the hard way when I was designing the HMS Aleksandra which you can see on this very forum. Anyway if you start doing that now you can save alot of fannying about later!
