Default AT-AT Walker

Hi all. This is the AT-AT Walker from the Star Wars series. I did a simpler version without too much detail but I love the way it came out. Took me about 4 hours total. Still doesn't have textures :/

Rendering it was a blast, trying to show it's epic scale. I sort of wish I knew how to add in cool effects like snow with my rendering program...

Very good for simple model and for the time it took!

This was rendered with Cheetah 3d. I'm not sure what OS you have but it's Mac only :/

Shame that its Mac only as I'm on Windows. I would also use it for animating in games...

Snow can be made with a white mesh, give it a try, shouldn't be too hard.
Throw some gray in here and there on the material for faked gullies and dunes.

Snow in the air can be flakes mapped on onto planes with transparency.

This looks real good.

Thanks alot for the advice ham. I ended up just using a random array for the flakes in the air and a randomly generated terrain for the snow.

Nice call! I didn't have a scene in mind exactly but I might move in that direction the more I think about it. Any tips on modelling/rendering explosions?
