Default Texture mapping to surfaces

In the tutorial featuring the Land Rover Freelander there's an image which contains the textures for each surface. Is there a way to 'layout' on a file the vertices of an object so that an image can be created to 'fit' the object?

Cheers,

Titch

Default Re: Texture mapping to surfaces

Hi Titch,

Use Tools->texture coordinate editor (TCE) to 'unwrap a model texture'

Select surfaces from the main AC3D windows (e.g. one side of a car) and press a remap button to set the coordinates. Then resize the surfaces in the TCE. Do this for all surfaces in your model and arrange the pieces on the TCE. Then you can use Window->copy-to-clipboard and paste the image into a paint program to fill in your graphics on your texture.
