Default Cutting off a cylinder

I just want to do a simple thing like cutting off a cylinder but in this case making a 45o cut across the cylinder.

Well you could use the Boolean plugin (requires an AC3D licence). Or you can move the vertices to line up with another shape.

This is what I did here:



I made a cylinder and box, rotated the box 45 degs and locked it. Then I selected vertices and pulled them down so they lined up with the edge of the box (holding down the control key to make sure they moved in one direction only).
