Default New user - questions

I want to create an object. Its a product blister like you would see in the stores for tape. Basically it looks like a quansette hut ( a roll of tape goes in it).

Are there any tutorials for creating models like this.

Seems like it'd be a cylinder half, shaped to suit?

Oooooh.... it seems like you need to take a deep breath and start at the very beginning. You have to understand the basics, like primitives (planes, cylinders, boxes, polygons, toruses, etc.), and how these can be manipulated to create almost anything you want... before you can even envision your "finished product".

Can you post a picture of the kind of object you envision? Perhaps I can *begin* to steer you in the right direction....

But, to answer your last question more directly, to create a half cylinder, you'd create and size a cylinder, then select half the surfaces and delete them... then, decide whether you need to "cap" the open end or not.

Am I missing someplace in the manual?

Unsure... the manual's pretty thorough.

Can you post a picture of what it is you're trying to model? Is this a retail display type of thing, or....?

If it's what I sort of envision in my mind's eye, I might be able to quickly lend a hand.

Or, if you have Skpe, PM me, and we can arrange to chat or even to share a desktop.

Sure. Here it is. Its the blister for the selfgrip.

Then once I do this, I can use it to build planes for Clearview RC.

I was going to post an entire, annotated tutorial here... but you're limited to just 4 graphics per post. So, I put it all in a PDF doc, which you can download by clicking this link]

By the end of this tutorial, you can have this to put beside that picture:
