Cool Is it possible?

To get the insides of objects textured? I am working on a gun, (original huh?) and I made the silencer/emitter part, (not sure what its called) the front part hollow by basically extruding the front back into itself and deleting the back part, (which doesn't always work, because than it sometimes becomes invisible from the insides) and so i found a nice metal camo texture to put on it, but the inside is not texturing. So 1.) How do you/is it possible to texture the inside, and/or B.) is there some better way of making it hollow than extruding backwards that will fix the problem?

Thank you in advance to anyone who helps me.

Here is a picture to help you see the problem I am talking about:

Your silencer seems to be made of 1-sided surfaces (?), so making them 2-sided will fix the problem.
But I would suggest adding a little bit of thickness to your mesh :

Select your front surfaces :

Perfrom a "divide loop" (it's a plugin from Dennis, search for it if you don't have it yet) :

Now select all the vertices of that new "ring" (select 1 vertice then another next to it and press "L") and scale up by 10% till you have something like that :

Select your surfaces again :

And extrude them inward ("cap end" and "remove original" are checked) :

Now texture the whole thing again.

HTH.

Thats how I would have done it as well. The two sided surfaces are many times no good if you are planning to use it in some 3d program like Poser. Also you get a more real feel when extruding it the way Luuckyy did.

Question Re: Is it possible?

Thank you for your quick responses, however I have one dumb problem.
I found the plugin, it's here. However I downloaded it and put it in the plugin folder, but where is the command? I mean you do Surface-divide for example to divide, but where should the command for divide loop be located? I can't find it. Thanks,

Moose.

The command would be located under Tools.
Actually, you could just use the extrude tool on those surfaces and resize the ones you get from the extrusion instead of using divide loop. That's typically what I do. And it looks like what you were making was the flash suppressor http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_suppressor
