Create multipart sculptie for SL?
I am trying to create a frame for a motorcycle. Obviously this will have multiple parts to creat the whole frame, but I want to make it one object so it is one prim in SL.
Is this possible? |

Re: Create multipart sculptie for SL?
i have attached the ac file i am working on. basically 3 cylinders that make up a one of the forks on the front end of the bike.
Now i can use the union command to make these one object, but then there are curves into each object. Also whn uploaded to SL as one object it is just a mess. And the UV map is fine. Any clues? |

Re: Create multipart sculptie for SL?
Anyone on this?
Maybe I am going at it wrong and I should only use one shape. But how would I carve handle bars out of one shape? I have tried just using one cylinder and then extruding but that produces very poor results in SL. Last edited by glebreck; 17th April 2008 at 10:18 AM. |

Re: Create multipart sculptie for SL?
There's a problem with the UV mapper and or exporter that doesn't work on and pipe like bend even with the sculpty cylinder if you have a bend that goes over 90 degrees. I've tried this at least 40 different ways and so far nothing works. I've seen other applications and SL products with very complex pipe bends but not AC3D

Re: Create multipart sculptie for SL?
The one thing most of you might not know is in Second life you can sell your creations for lindens and then sell the lindens for real cash. People are making thousands of dollars a month from their products such as clothes, weapons (scripted) homes and more. Because Sculpty is so new it's a great way to get in on that action and I believe you can make far more money in Second Life selling virtual products than you can through some of these 3D web sites for poser and other other componits. I myself have made lots over the last 2 years but not with sculpty.

I just put up a new file with some more base prims, including a horse-shoe shaped archway. (Full 180-degree bend) http://www.independentdeveloper.com/...pted-prims.zip |
