Extruding 1 Sided Figures Help
Hello I need help. I am trying to follow the Joan of Ark tutorials but I cant get the part where you extrude the eye. I can get the rectangle but I cant extrude it since it is one sided.
Please Help. |

Re: Extruding 1 Sided Figures Help
One alternative is to use the polyline tool in its place. If you double-click the tool, it will turn green and remain enabled as you complete each shape. You'll need to merge and optimize vertices when you are done. Be sure to enable "near snap" when you use the polyline tool; if you forget, you can use "snap together by distance" to snap the vertices together before you optimize.
Once you have the first set of loops, use "create ordered surface" to build up the remaining surfaces connecting the eyes and the lips. http://www.independentdeveloper.com/files/joaneye.wmv |

Nice video Lisa!
Vertex->Extrude edges is also useful here. Press control+e after selecting two or more adjacent vertices. You can quickly make the eye by outlining it with a single polyline and then Vertex->Extrude-edge and scale and move the selection. |

Sweet! Is that new in 6.4? Or have I somehow missed it all this time?
