Default Textures do not appear!

Hi...
I use AC3D5, and have made a round object, and select it, go to object mode and object - texture - set texture and select the pic i want to be texture... but when i select the bitmap, it will not appear!

help!

Hi Anders!
You must try with another imaging, for example a pic I recomend u to use pics, .jpef .png.
Try with this kind of pictures.

I've tryed with .gif, .bmp, png, jpg, but nothing seems to work!! ops:

Ensure that the texture viewing is enabled in yout orthographic or persspective view options.

Where do i find the orthographic and perspective view options? ops:
It is not working in 3d-mode... it has appeard in the front, top and side mode
