Default 2 Questions

I made an assault rifle, but the handle was kinda messy, is there a
way to make it a little smoother? And how do you make a hole in
a box or a cylinder?

As to the handle, it's hard to tell what's "messy" about it without seeing it. Post a screenshot and perhaps we can help you.

As to making a hole in a box or cylinder... there are a variety of ways to do that, too. I depends on what shape the hole is... and it depends on the object that you're cutting it out of.

Perhaps the best way to do it might be to simply create a set of vertices that represent the edge of your hole... move them in proper proximity to the outer surface of the object you want to place the hole in... then remove the surfaces of the object surface, and in vertice mode, recreate that outer surface using the vertices of the hole... (hard to describe in words)

Or... you can use objects and the Knife tool to better describe the hole, then just eliminate the polys of the hole once you've isolated them in the structure of the object you're making the hole in (again, ard to describe in words)

There are two, more "automatic" ways to do this, but depending on a number of factors they might not work with the objects you describe, or might be very messy in terms of the "damage" done to the object you cut the hole out of.

These are "Make Hole" and "Boolean Cut".

Looks to me you have the wrong strategy altogether to create this.

I thought originally you were talking about a hand grip, like the gnurled one you might find on an old Thompson submachine gun. But you're having trouble with the trigger.

Eliminate that whole area. Your trigger guard is nothing but a hollow tube (or cylinder) turned perpendicular to the cylinders you're using for the gun barrels, and there's a thin metal flange in it for the actual trigger itself. Any other object or part of the gun body that these protrude from can be made from a box, most likely, or a poly shape of their own.

No that's not what i mean, the trigger is ok and the trigger guard too.
my problem is the handle, I need to get it smoother. I tried to do that
my self, and you see what happened.

Oh, OK, now I see the trigger forward of the handle...

Try this:

Create a set of vertices that represent the edge of your hole (from a disk)... move them in proper proximity to the outer surfaces of the object you want to place the hole in (one set on both sides)... then remove the outer surfaces of the solid handle object, and in Vertice mode, recreate that outer surface, also incorporating vertices of the hole...at some point, merge all three objects, (the original handle and the two hole shapes) into one object to cut down on annoying dialogue boxes.

This creates a much "cleaner" surface, reduces polys, too. It's simply much more time consuming than a boolean. But in many cases, it'll look a lot better.
