Default Won't start in Vista 32bit (SP1)

Hello,

The Tech Support forum appears to be dead so I'd like to try here:

I want to demo (and purchase) this software but it won't even start. After installing the latest version on Vista 32 SP1 I click on the shortcut and a blank DOS/Cmd screen pops up and then the program crashes. As I have Visual Studio also installed on the machine, I am offered to debug the problem.

I have tried to start AC3D as administrator and I have tried starting it in XP compatibility mode and neither works. The demo works on my Macbook laptop, but I don't want to develop on that machine.

Has anyone met with similar installation problems on Vista 32 (SP1)?

I see that the intall folder has the Visual C++ 2005 SP1 runtime DLL and since I also have Visual Studio 2005, I can't see that the problem is related to a missing .DLL? Or is it?

Thanks,

Jeff

While I recieved prompt assistance from Andy, I was able to work this problem out myself.

I have posted my remedy in the tech: bugs & problems forum: http://www.inivis.com/forum/showthre...2741#post22741
