Default UV Mapping

Is there a way to map Left/Right and or Top/Bottom at the same time, other then turning to front and split polys. I really like how the map works in ac3d when making a uv map but cant get it work other than left or right, top or bottom. I am doing it in another program now and then importing to ac3d to finish just trying to cut down on steps.

Thanks

Are you for example selecting the faces that exist on the left-side and then hit left-side Plannar mapping (with the UV-map plugin tool)?

Toronto,
Thanks for the response, Yes I have done that with low poly objects that are easy split the polys from left to right, but when more complex objects it does get almost impossible to get a clean left to right break. I have posted some pics of what you are talking about (pic1) I think, and what I mean trying to split complex from the front view(pic2) and last the (pic 3) of the left and right split by using the extra step outside of ac3d.

hmmmmmmmmmmm..............

I think you need the hide surfaces script.
http://www.inivis.com/forum/showthre...iding+surfaces

From the side view select the top faces and map them.
Then hide those top faces.

Next from the top view select the leftside faces and map them.
Then hide the leftside faces.

Finally select and map the right side faces.

Be careful where each mesh is mapped onto the texture, so they don't overlap.

There's probably a better method, but that's all I can think of.

Thanks, I will give that a try. I guess I was hoping there would be a unwrap feature in the object in the uv editor without dealing with the selecting and de-selecting faces in the newest version.

Thanks again,

Brent
