how to make a sunshade

Hello everybody,

I am a dumbo newbie to AC3D Can anyone tell me how to make a sunshade over a window ?
I made a small house using the box.
dividing one of its surfaces and cut holes for a door and window.
now how can i get a sunshade over them ?
