Also about the camera and the zoom, i am sure that in ac3d there is no way that anyone can bring the camera at the absolute zero (the exact center of the what camera is looking to (the "target" of the camera) ). its like the equation that x aproaches the y value, by increasing continiously its value (+) but it's there is no way that x can take the exact value of the y. it's going to be very near...
I thing that there is a zoom factor that counts the distance between the camera and camera's target and it's decreasing (zoom in) like etc: the 33% of the distance between the camera and the camera's target....

Malekovtits- study the mandlebrot....study the Mandelbrot. If you know C, then find the source code, and examine it. Fractals & 3D ? ¿ ? Hmmmm.
