Next generation AC3D
Here is my wish list:
1. Use of X-Planes animation approach, for export using Collada 2. Ability to multi-bake textures, normal, bump, etc, again exprot using Collada 3. Parallel extrusion, along normals, to allow for thickness regardless of shape

Re: Next generation AC3D
So we have some of these features now in the new version.
Still would like the ability to export basic anaimation to Collada, rotation and transition. Given the X-Plane plugin could this be achievable?

Re: Next generation AC3D
Collada is supposed to be supported at system level in OS X 10.6.
A demo was shown previewing 3D models in Preview.app and Mail.app (i think). So yeah Collada would be good. |

Re: Next generation AC3D
Speaking of the X-Plane plug-in, is there a possibility that the app will eventually "ship" with AC3D? The progam does seem to come with a sizable portion of Second Life tools, after all.

Re: Next generation AC3D
Here we go again, I'm still looking to get Collada exports, with animation.
At present this missing feature, is going to result in dropping AC3D as the tool of choice. Which is a great shame as it is the best and most logical 3D tool around. So if I set out some requirements, could a plug-in be built to enable true Collada export, with animations? I know Lisa has the Collada technical specs, and may, repeat may like to tackle this area. Requirements: Basic animation, rotate and transition of objects, as per X-Planes plugin, exported in the Collada format. I'm not bothered with anything else. So I see a parent like a wing, linked via a rotation to the child aileron. With rotational values being input as angles, in the respective plane. Same for transitions, like a fuselage linked via a transition to a child canopy that slides back and forward by a specific value, in units. If I could write programmes I'd do it myself, but I'm not even a basic programmer.

Re: Next generation AC3D
I think you mean translation, instead of transition.
