Default Zoom in/out keys

Hey Andy - now that 5.0 is out and you have all this time on your hands . I think a Zoom to cursor and Zoom prievious hot keys would be great for tracing backgrounds with a lot of curves in them, or rounded corners.

Hi Art,

I'm not sure what you mean - zooming to a particular point would go infinite. Do you mean you want the mouse zooming to work around the mouse pointer rather than the center of the window?

Please explain more.

If I am tracing a background image I usually start out viewing the whole thing and then after I finish I zoom in close to reposition the verticees (I think that's a word) and maybe add or delete some . I was just thinking that it would be nices to use a hot key to zoom in/out and do this as I am tracing. Maybe if the zoom in hot key would ask for an area to zoom to (without screwing up your polyline) and the zoom prievious hot key would take you to the view before you zoomed in. I use F2 and F3 in Corel Draw (unless I've been using AC3D - then I try to click and drag :?). It's not a barn burner, but I trace a lot of parts and it would be helpful.

Thanks for the great support as usual.

I assume you know about the cursor-keys and control+up/down for zoom?

It should be possible to add some binding for your own hot keys. If you are feeling brave - see tcl/ac3dview.tcl (do_bindings).

Something like:

bind $window Z "ac3d zoomview <factor-you-can-experiment-with>"

might work.

Remembering previous locations is more involved but probably could be done from a tcl/tk script.
