Default Le Redoutable

Let us begin by saying that the lighthouse has NOT been modelled by me. It has been modelled by a lady who lives in Brittany, whose name is Cathy Tritschler, and whose models are available on Google's 3D Warehouse.

However the rest HAS been made by me. This is my latest model, the French battleship "Le Redoutable", launched in 1876, as she was in 1895. My modelling is getting relatively complex, as "Le Redoutable" has more than 40,000 vertices, even though it IS a simplified model...

"Le Redoutable" was part of the International Squadron sent to China in 1900 to deal with the Boxer Rebellion ( Remember "The Forty Days of Peking"? ). I know, this is no longer politically correct, but it once was.

The image, created with AC3D and Kerkythea, shows the battleship dangerously close to the Phare du Four, north of Ushant.
