Default Subdivision process time ...

I've noticed that when I proceed to a subdivision (x2) of a complete model (let's say a car) for the first time, it's very quick.
Then the more I use the subdivision, the slower it is.
I think it may have to do with the undo possibilities that may keep a lot of things in memory ... (?).
Anyway, if something could be done for that, it would be very cool.

I do have 512 Mo of RAM.
I know it's the minimum today.

But, the "problem" described above happens even if AC3D is the only app running.
