Default Normals

I am still having trouble with Normals on export. Even when I have flipped them using the menu command, my object comes out invisible in parts no matter what programme I use. This happens when I have cut part of an object away or when I have drawn using line. However I have managed to get round the problem with lines by exporting in stl format then reimporting and exporting again. However the invisible/normals problem still remains for cut items. Any suggestions would be much welcome.

If the surfaces flipped, you will be able to see it. Switch on the display of normals (press 'n' or use the Orth/3D menus at the top) to see where then surfaces face.

Also, set all surfaces to single sided. If any 'vanish', i.e. they are only visible from one side, flip those.

I have done that, selecting the individual ones but that only makes the opposite side invisible while correcting the facing one
