selecting vertices
Hi.
I'm having a rough time selecting the exact vertices (or surfaces) I need to manipulate. Each time I select, the selection goes right through the object and either picks the vertices on the opposite side, or selects vertices on both the near and far sides of the object. Any ideas? |

Yep, zoom in further, and change the viewng angle to get those vertices "behind" your selections out of the way. That's assuming 3D window, of course.
Or, you could select them (and the inadvertent ones), change the angle or the ortho window and from a different vantage point, de-select the ones you don't want with right mouse button held.

A click will select only the single nearest item (vertex or surface).
You can also select in the 3D window with control+click. As Stiglr says, de-select any vertices you don't want to work on with shift+right-mouse-button. Andy |

That did the trick!
The deselect procedure was what I really needed. I might be wrong, but it doesn't seem to be mentioned in the manual. Thanks a lot for your help. nm |
