Default exporting hi-res images from AC3D

Hi All,

a couple of months ago I stared to use AC3D in order to produce some 3D images of WWI aircraft to add to my new book project.
So far I wasn't able to exporting my work in a jpg or tiff format in an adeguate resolution.
I tried to create the airframe of a ni.11 (just as a test) in AC3D, then converted it in .3ds format in order to render it insketchup and then convert it in TIFF format for my book.

Oddly when I import the .3ds file in sketchup something happen (see the pic attached) It seems that I'm not able to color and render some of the objects/surfaces....

did anyone of you faced and solved the same problems? or has someone of you any alternative procedure to suggest me?

thanks in advance for your attention

cheers
