Had to say thanks!
I love AC3D. A simple but powerful program that I actually figured out on my own! I'm still learning it, I don't use hardly any of the features yet but I expand my knowledge bit by bit. Sorry if I am gushing or seemingly kissing butt but this is an awesome program.
I make cars in Second Life, I own Primouth Motors. I use AC3D to make many parts of the cars now. Like I said still learning but this has definately pushed my car making skills way past what it used to be just using SL building tools. This car is 95% sculpties made in AC3D. I know it's nothing compared to all of the 3d models posted on this site but it's a start. http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.a...81&sort=newest Thanks again Inivis!! This is very impressive. Can you post a pic of your model in AC3D?

Re: Had to say thanks!
Well, that would be tough. The pic you see is here is made up of parts, much like a regular car, for example the grille has individual teeth and trim surrounding it. I don't have a pic of the entire car in ac3d. I am obsessive about detail and actually enjoy making the individual parts and putting them together in sl like building a real car. I know I will be able to render an entire car in ac3d then export it into sl but I need to learn more before I can do that.

No prob. I think it's one of the best models I've ever seen in SL.

Re: Had to say thanks!
Thank you for the compliments! One thing:
"Just make sure that you name each object in your scene a unique name and the exporter will dump everything out in one export." A silly question I'm sure but does this mean it will turn all of the objects from AC3D into one sculpty in Second Life? |
