Default New Vertices

For one of my models I have a elongated cube. I have to add a line of vertices going down the middle, but not across. Then I want to be able to chop the square in half and ad another line doing down. How could I do this?

Default Re: New Vertices

divide the surface and then select sets of surfaces to combine back into one.

There are probably many other ways of making the object you want
