MS Paint. I just made some text and a flag, spaced it around the window, applied the texture to the object, contracted surfaces I didn't want it on into a single point, and then moved the other surfaces around the texture in the TCE.

Well, what kind of decals do you want on your ships?

You could sphere the texture onto the model, that may give an interesting effect...
Other than that I'd do a manual manipuation of individual surfaces in TCE.

Cool looking model (captainj2410) !!!
Just set the TCE top map your model in the top view for those letters. I woud do a new PSD in photoshop : 2 Layers, 1) the body texture, 2) the letters and logos Just do one side and copy and invert them in photoshop layers. Then just make a JPG and apply it to the model in OBJ set texture. For the texture you can take a digital photo of any kind of material and make it the size of the whole map (template), this way you get it on the all the model. !!! (nightoftheroundtable) !!!
