Default Sharp corners (second life sculpties)

Does anyone have any advice (or perhaps a sample shape) that explains how to achieve sharp cornered shapes when making a item to be turned into a Second Life sculptie.

As far as I understand, this means having multiple points at the same point (probably not the right terminology, sorry)

For example, say I wished to make a steel girder, which is in essence, if you imagine the shape of a letter " H " on it's side, but lots of depth.

With crisp sides and corners.

Something like this for example:

Not that I particulary need a girder, but it would give me a good idea how to make other sharp and straight shapes.

Thanks
