Default iPhone/iPod Touch

Coworker recently got an iPod Touch and was showing off some of the games/demos he's downloaded for it. Two that struck me most were two games, one racing game and one "Walk around an empty warehouse" demo. I'm of course sitting here going "I could so model this stuff myself...", which of course got me thinking.

Why not work on some iPhone/iPod Touch 3D games, using AC3D as my modeler of choice? Would have to find an animation program though...

Anyone here actually look into this stuff yet, have some pointers to resources I'd need (heh, beyond a mac and the iPhone SDK, that is)?
