Spurious diagonal lines

Hi, I am getting diagonal construction lines shown whenever an object is not fully visible in a window.

That is, if I draw for example a simple rectangle, I see just the rectangle until some part of it is off-window, then I see the part rectangle with its diagonals visible.

This has happened since v4 on both my PCs. Is this a known issue? Is it my video card? I run SiS with 2 screens, under Windows XP SP2.

Any help welcomed.
