Default Boolean

I dont understand the boolean operation at all. I am trying to make a circular hole in a square with it but it doesnt want to work!

These parts were NOT created with a Boolean operation , I found it easier
to get what I wanted and with "consistant internal geometery" - using other methods.

There is a bit of a trick to creating these types of parts, try them (as a test), to
see what you can do. I wished they were genericaly easier.

BTW, these were all created in about 3 minutes.

In boolean, you take two objects and make them operands (A and B). You have four options once this is done, union (eliminates overlap and makes the two objects one), intersection (opposite of union) A-B, and B-A. You should avoid boolean as much as possible though, it doesn't produce pretty results
