Default cutting objects using boolean operations

I am using AC3D with the CSG plugin v1.01 and am trying to cut a cylinder out of the interior of a cube. The cylinder's length is longer than the cube's width, the cylinder has capped ends and I've ensured that all objects are one sided.

When I subtract the cylinder (B) from the cube (A) using "subtract A-B", I don't get the result I expect. I've selected the option to delete B. What am I doing wrong? Do I need a newer version of the plugin?

Thanks.

Ok, If I understand what you want correctly, try this.

Set Operand A to the Box, Set Operand B to the Cylinder

Select Subtraction (A-B)

Select Delete for both Operand A and Operand B

Click OK

This should remove the cylinder from the box and leave you with a hole in the box where the cylinder used to be.

I hope this helps.

Ah! The crucial mistake: I wasn't deleting A, either, so this looked like the cutting out wasn't being done completely. Sorry, operator error!

Cheers.

You're very welcome, glad could help.

I've tried to use the Booleans a few times in the past and know how frustrating it can be.

To be honest, I really wasn't sure, so I went through all conceiveable options until I stumbled upon the right set of options.
