DDS is a 2D graphics file, there are convertors to make it jpg or tga.

There are others.

The DDS plugin for AC3D should handle all DXT1,3,5 format 2D images, though.

DDS *can* specify cube maps, 3D textures, and other compression formats which are *not* supported, though.

I'm kinda curious what format your DDS is actually specifying.

Thank you for your answers
I explain you my problem. I would like to create a 3D model of a nascar'cars.

I have the files in .psd . Files take in easport.com. I can customize my skin, and, so

And I would like to open it in ac3d, because it is easport who advises to open it in this software

so, what can I do?

From what I can tell, NASCAR allows you to edit a car texture template. PSD and DDS files are used as textures, but AC3D is a 3d model-building program. You would need a model (such as a 3ds, OBJ, .X, etc) to apply your texture to in order to view it in AC3D.

However, even then AC3D will not allow you to edit the texture image. You need a 2D paint program to do that. You could try GiMP or PhotoShop for your 2D editing.

Hm - I was not able to find a page like the one you have captured here when browsing the site, and the link provided did not go to quite this location. I'm interested in seeing the page you've captured, but I doubt I would get any different results than you have.

There is a chance that contacting the webmaster or support might get you the information you need. Alternatively, if the files are not available for some reason, someone somewhere will undoubtedly have repackaged them on some public server...

I've spent as much energy as I can on this - I have no clue where the OBJ files can actually be gotten from. I found a couple links, but they were not to any site I trust. The EA website either no longer hosts the files, or has accidentally hidden them away where no one can reach them; users have been reporting the same issue you are having for months.

There may be a community forum where you can find someone who has the files and can share them with you. It is possible that the EA support will be able to help, but I have never had much luck with them when the answer was not already available in an FAQ.

The template image is pretty clean - *IF* you or anyone you know has some 3d modeling skills, then you can probably put together a car to fit this template well enough for preview purposes. That said, if the download is not working I do not know if the upload will either.

Sorry I can't do any more for you.

Good luck,
-- Jeff
