vrml texture does not display
I'm having to export my ac objects to vrml, when I open the vrml file using Cosmoplayer there is no texture displayed just the solid.
I have used both small sized jpg and bmp images with 8 char file name lengths mapped to the object using the Texture Editor. The file name is embedded correctly in the vrml file. Anybody have any ideas on how to get the texture to display in vrml? |

Re: vrml texture does not display
Is the refrence to the texture and the location of the actual texture the same. In translating it into vrml, the editor or vrml viewer, sometimes assumes that the texture is in the same directory as the .wrl and remember vrml can not use some formats, in fact I think vrml is limited to jpeg, PNG, and maybe GIF(I know some GIF don't work in some VRML viewrs/editors. Am not fmilliar with Cosmo, I use VrmlPad.)

Re: vrml texture does not display
this is the opening sequence to the vrml before it starts into the point coordinates and the reference is to the file location:
#VRML V2.0 utf8 Group { children [ # Object "block" Shape { appearance Appearance { texture ImageTexture { url "C:/astroarchaeology/THE_PAPER/Sites/tiraghoil/tirahoil.bmp" } textureTransform TextureTransform { } material Material { diffuseColor 1 1 1 specularColor 0.2 0.2 0.2 emissiveColor 0 0 0 shininess 1.000000 transparency 0.000000 } } |

Re: vrml texture does not display
VRML 2.0 does not support the use of .bmp format. .jpg, .png, and some .gif change the texture to one of these. I use .jpg unless I need the texture to have the transpaency trait then I use .png

Re: vrml texture does not display
Your:
textureTransform TextureTransform { } needs a: scale example: textureTransform TextureTransform { scale 5 5 rotation 0.78 }

Re: vrml texture does not display
if it needs the scale and rotation elements, then this is something that is missing from the AC3D export plugin.
but dispite that, any idea on how I can determine what the scale and rotation values should be? I tried the examples you gave but still no texture |

Re: vrml texture does not display
Can you send me the file and the texture, I will put it n Vrmlpad and see if I can figure out the problem. I am sure that it is not the fault of ac3d as I use it all the time and have no problems.
