Default Graphic glitches.... with Captivate

I'm working on an update of my tutorial series, How to Build Aircraft with AC3D, and this time I am using Captivate as the production vehicle. Captivate's feature set and its ability to create compact and easily distributable file types (.swf) makes it attractive.

But I've hit a bit of a snag. When I run Captivate and AC3D at the same time (to do a lesson capture), I lose the editable 3D window display. It goes blank, and I can't see any vertices, surfaces, etc. You can click the "eye" button and see the render.... but then, of course, you can't select anything in the window. I know I will have to make use of the 3D view for editing purposes as I go through the series. So, it behooves me to figure this problem out NOW.

I'm not sure what I'm up against here, but would appreciate any clues from those who might know some of the inner workings of applications and video. I already tried to upgrade the drivers for my laptop's Intel HD card, but no newer driver is available. I've been through Captivate's various video setup screens, and can't figure out what might be the culprit. I toggled to change from 32- to 16 bit video capture, but that didn't seem to solve the problem. Also, the control panel for this laptop doesn't have any kind of toggle for anti-aliasing. It has a "3D" settings tab, but it's not very deep; I have it set to Application specific, but that surely doesn't mean that AC3D's optimization should hold sway; in fact, it appears that something innate to Captivate is the problem.

But I do know that if I run AC3D without Captivate, the 3D window's functionality comes back. And also, this happens only in the 3D window, not the Orth windows. In the Orths, occasionally the grid will disappear, but any change in the zoom or pan in those windows and the grid comes right back.
