Problems with background images

I'm having a couple of problems with background images.

1. Attempting to select a face or vertex of a mesh or poly line with a mouse doesn't work when the viewport has a background image set. I can use select-all, or select the elements using another view port that doesn't have a background image. The actual file created by 'save' looks like this...

1||0|0|1.000000

ie - no file name/path(?)

2. The script to save/load the background image configuration does not seem to be able to load/save the file. To the extent of my TCL skills I attempted to debug the script - as far as I can see, the image property doesn't seem to work.

The script file name is: bgimageloadsave.tcl.

My ac3d version is 8.3.30 - Mac OS/X 10.13.6 (17G5019)
