Default Surface, Vertex Crease values for Subdevision

first check out this site:

http://www.edharriss.com/tutorials/t...tex_crease.htm

in ac3d you cant set the surface/vertex/edge crease values for subdivision
even if you just had an Object crease value it would be better than nothing
so you would have a lot more control when you subdividing models, equaling in easyer to make better models

what da ya think?

AC3D doesn't use edges internally, so there's no way to store edge crease information.

You can approximate this sort of creasing by adding extra surfaces e.g. use indent or bevel.

Alternatively, edit the model after commiting the subdivision.

yes, those are good ways of adding detail I agree....but much harder to do
but modeling isnt the easyest thing to do either

yup, that does present a problem, but there are other ways of doing it.
just for thought:
- makeing a background "crease label", basicly just somthing with a crease value, and vertex/surface/edge refrence
- when you select a vertex, and "change" its crease value, what your acculy doing is assigning a "crease lable" to it
- then just use the labels when subdeviding

but yea, adding more surfaces works to.
also when was subdeviding first introduces in ac3d?

thanx
