Default Creating object manipulated by wind

Hi, I'm wanting to add some objects that would be manipulated by wind. For example a flag/windsock that will pint in the correct direction. How do I go about telling the object that it will point into the wind? I've googled the heck out of this and can't seem to find anything, and I'm not able to do this with my knowledge of the X-Plane plug-in. Thanks

Morgan

Have you considered opening the windsock that comes with X-Plane and seeing what datarefs etc it uses?

I'm trying that now, but I'm not seeing where it's is telling the wind to control it

Ah, sorry, I should have been clearer. I meant open the .obj file for the windsock to see what datarefs it uses.

You can look in AC3D if you like; each of the lines with Object "rotate" in them are animations. If you select one of those and view the X-Plane properties box it'll give you some info about the dateref and values used. The X-plane animation time menu will allow to manipulate the animation, to see what it does.

I recommend opening a few animated objects, in a text editor or AC3D, to see what's inside and to figure out how they work.

Hope that helps!
