Default Q: Optimize polygon count.

Hello everyone,
I have a question about reducing the polygon count of a model in AC3D.

Currently, I am using Freeworld3D as my primary terrain editor. I have exported my terrain as a Wavefront OBJ file and imported it into my modeler, AC3D, as directed in this tutorial: http://www.freeworld3d.org/tutorials...rrainmesh.html.

Would there be an optimize feature similar to one in 3ds Max?

The reduce option in AC3D doesn't seem to be what I'm looking for.

I think the Reduce option is the only similar tool in AC3D. What about it is not giving you the results you're looking for?

The reduce option doesn't completely combine flat surfaces without losing a lot of detail in the terrain.

The Optimize modifier in 3ds Max appears to combine the unnecessary surfaces with little or no loss to the model's structure.
