The Fokker V1 progresses:

I have a set of drawings, from WW1 Aero # 113 which shows some fine detail. I still have a few issues with the drawings as some itmes are not "engineered" correctly for strength or logical design. Especially the tailplane and rudder pivot points. But I think I've worked out how they were done.

I'm happy with the results thus far, but it is only the begining.

Have sorted out the lower wing attachment point and adjusted fusealge structure to suit, in fact it now also aligns with upper wing as well. So the drawings are incorrect.
Now here is the latest, lower and upper wing modelled, spars done but no ribs yet.

Leather capping around cockpit, top metal cowl and fuel/oil tank in place. Rough shape for aft bulkhead, needs cutting for controls.

Achim Engles (the Fokker man) says this engine (U.I) was not used, but the Oberursel Ur.II 110hp was. So need to build that as well.

In the mean time, here is a viewable 3D inside a pdf file. Enjoy.

Here is the latest installment, a fully textured Oberursel Ur.II in PDF. Poly count 20K plus.

Now I've worked out a process to take AC files into PDF, a few steps, but nice result.

Looking great! I'm impressed by the amount of detail you've put into it.

The project continues, the latest is a test of building a virtual world for the models to live in, based on actual buildings. For the test I'm using the hangar from Achim Engels in Schorndorf along with some other objects. Here is my visit report to his workshop, where I spent two weeks of great fun.

Here are the first test results: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nrhHL20jQk

The models are made with AC3D, the virtual world with 3D Rad.

In time the Fokker Virtual Museum will contain all the buildings form the Schwerin-Gorries site and be populated with aircraft and other objects of interest. I ahve thanks to Achim a lot of historical documents from the site and I've managed to get hold of a series of period photos of the factory.

This is going like a set of reference models, and in time will form the basis of a real museum on the original site.
