This is a lovely tool.

I think I have found another issue in the config file. The 50% and 200% controls seem to be missing a backslash before the { and } in the description of what the key is -- I guess this confuses tcl. I hope that makes sense.

Another thing that confused me was that the tooltips only show sometimes. I tracked this down to the fact that the tooltips do not show when a control is not enabled. I don't suppose there is a mechanism to grey out disabled controls?

Cheers,

Steve.

Can you post back is showing up in the description for these buttons when you mouse-over them? They should be showing that "{" and "}" are the hotkeys...

Aside from the few context-sensitive ones that are already there (group/flip), there is no grey-ing available on the text version of the controls. Also, there is no support for greying out icons yet (including group/flip)...

Dennis,

Thanks for your reply. I realise that I wasn't very clear and conflated two issues. The problem caused the 200% ans 50% buttons to not work at all (and any following buttons were lost). I fixed it by changing e.g.

Scale 50% = "50%" "toolbar_icons/scale0.5.gif" toolbar_add_button %ddh_toolbar_label% "ac3d scale 0.5 0.5 0.5" "Half size of selected\n(key = { )" %ddh_toolbar_image%

to:

Scale 50% = "50%" "toolbar_icons/scale0.5.gif" toolbar_add_button %ddh_toolbar_label% "ac3d scale 0.5 0.5 0.5" "Half size of selected\n(key = \{ )" %ddh_toolbar_image%

in the conf file, so that the "{" is escaped (and similarly "}" for 200%).

Cheers,

Steve.

OK -- I understand. I was just interested to see if it was technically feasible as it would improve the AC3D interface. It's a minor issue.

Just FYI, I have no problem at all with the 50% and 200% buttons ...
So it's a bit strange that you do have some on your side (?).

I agree it's odd. So, I did a little more digging and found that the problem only occurs if the toolbar is saved with images. If you just have text buttons, it's OK.

Anyhow, using backslashes in the conf file works for me. If anyone else has a similar issue, then it might help.

Cheers,

Steve.

Thanks for getting this, Steve --- excellent find!

I've updated the .conf file that ships with the toolbar, and have made the .conf file available as a standalone download to fix this issue with an existing toolbar editor installation:

http://supercoldmilk.com/ac3dplug/ac3dtb.html

There are installation notes for the .conf file only right under the download links.

There are also new installation notes in the "Installation" section for .Net 2.0 users that have never had version 1.1 installed on their system (I believe this is the cause of the problem that some .Net 2.0 users have had, based on KB artices from Microsoft).

Hey Dennis, the "Save as" option on the custom toolbar does not work for me. Is it just my com or is this an error in the program?

Here is what it said:
invalid command name "menu_save_as"
invalid command name "menu_save_as"
while executing
"menu_save_as "
invoked from within
"if { [.mainframe.toolbar.39 cget -relief] == "sunken" } { .mainframe.toolbar.39 configure -relief raised ; menu_save_as } "
(command bound to event)
