Default What are the blue lines/dots, and how do I get rid of them?

This seems like a silly question, because I've seen this for so long, but I do not really understand what I am seeing. Can someone please tell me why these blue bits are in the 3D view, and how I can get rid of them?

Thanks,
-- Jeff

Very cool - didn't realize it was that easy to create those. 3D view looks much nicer, now - thanks!
