Default I want to make an apple.

Hello everyone

So I'm using the trial version of AC3D, and for now it's the only program which is very user friendly, so maybe I'll buy it.

There is a problem, though.

I want to shape an apple. I know I can just insert a sphere/globe, push in the top and the bottom of it by pulling the tops to the core and then finally place a stem on top, but it can be a lot more realistic if I could bend the whole sphere a bit. so the cross-section will be more like this :http://home13.inet.tele.dk/Anette/psp/appel.jpg

I can do it by editing every blue dot of the sphere by myself, but there may be an easier solution.

Try not editing the entire sphere at once, rather groups of vertices, so that you get a naturally unsymmetrical, imperfect shape.

I'd imagine a few scalings and few pulls and pushes in strategic areas would get you the results you want.

I second that. Pull some vertices of a sphere around and use Vertex->Smooth-shape on all vertices to make the apple a bit smoother.

Rather than starting with a sphere, you could try revolving a half section outline of an apple shape.

One minute apple, no texturing or rendering, shading or stem etc.
