Hi
I am running Ubuntu 8.04 and when I extract this program I am having issue running either ac3d or ac3ds. in terminal i attempt to run but states neither directory exists. I have the program on my system but can't run it! I am switching to linux from windows and this is all new to me but I am trying to learn the linux way. Can anyone offer advise? |

You will need to 'cd' into the correct directory and start AC3D with './ac3d' or './ac3ds'. Most Linux beginners tutorials will cover the basics of shell use.

hello Andy thank you for replying I was afraid this was a necrothread!
I have read over several beginners tutorials and do understand enough to change directories but regardless I get this: bash: cd: ./ac3ds: No such file or directory Forgive me but this is a program I purchased while in windows and love the way it works with SecondLife so I am endeavoring to get it up and running. Which is why I am asking for help "here", smiles. |

I think using an icon file browser may be the best way for you to start AC3D but if you want to start it from the command-line you will need to 'cd' into the directory where you have installed AC3D e.g.
Code:
cd /home/me/ac3dlx and then start AC3D with: Code:
./ac3ds |
