I think both would be generally useful. I just did a quick test with an animated object for x-plane.
object data before was:

then I added two lines to check if the plugin messes with them

So far there are no issues. The plugin will still change the settings it put there properly and leave the lines added by myself unchanged.
As far as I can see the names for added values just can't match any of those used by the plugin.
